In my opinion, everybody would like to be famous, each one in their own way. Some people want to be a celebrity; other people want to be famous in their career and others in their community. I would like to be famous in my career, but not a celebrity.
The way that I want to be famous is in my work. If I am recognized in my career, it means that I have done good work, with quality and seriousness. Maybe I was a quite famous in Brasília. I used to work in the Brasília Zoo, and sometimes I had to do speeches, especially during the time when I was working with reptiles, and when I was working with mammals, I gave interviews for TV and newspapers. Approximately three years ago, the local news broadcast of the most important Brazilian TV company made several interviews about zoo animals, in which the viewers had to choose the animal of the week, and many times they chose a mammal. Because of this, for almost three months I appeared on TV several times. However, fortunately, I was never stopped in the streets because of this.
However, I would not like to be a celebrity. Because a celebrity usually has to follow many social rules that I do not want to, the celebrities are always pursued and having their lives scrutinized by paparazzi and fans. In addition, I think this process transforms anyone’s life, and many times celebrities have to sacrifice features of their lives, so that they and their family’s intimacy won’t be exposed to the media.
So, I just want to be recognized in my career, it doesn’t mean that I need to be a celebrity.
