"One of things you must keep is love"

Masayuki Sato

“All you need is love.” The Beatles sang this. Is love the most necessary thing in your life? I haven’t the foggiest idea because it has passed only 22 years since I was born and to say “All you need is love” is out of the question for me, who haven’t experienced many things in my life. But I can say a little about love that I have learned until now.

You can use “love” for any kinds of things. You can love human beings. This use is normal and most proper, I think. You love a friend, classmate, or colleague etc. in your life, then make a relationship and get married. The basis is to love humans. Also, you love your family such as parents, brother or sister etc. To love other persons is very significant as human beings. Not loving persons leads to some troubles. In addition, war still continues to break out in some countries result from the feeling of not loving people. The person who has a human-loving mind can’t kill other person easily and can’t raise war. A sexually voracious mind where people think about just themselves or their benefit and the other person is indifferent to them brings this kind of disaster. Love can save your relationship and also make a peaceful world.

Another point is that you can use love for things. Recently, it seems that many young people break something without hesitation. Occasionally, some students are in trouble with damaging the property in school. This is the evidence that they don’t have love for things. The mind without love grows wild; growing wild makes the impulse of destruction. If they try to change that mind, they will be able to keep the rules even though they become older.

Finally, you can use love for nature. Today, environmental destruction advances and many trees are cut down by human beings. If this continues from now on, the earth will head toward collapse. This looks as if human beings kill themselves. Human beings should respect nature and love nature more.

“All you need is love.” Is love the most necessary thing in your life? I still can’t answer this question clearly. However I can say this, “One of things you must keep is love.”

  1. Nice writing Masa;

Love is actually indulged in all human beings, but it defers from one person to another according to their minds and the way that they translate their act of love into reality and express their feeling to other people like loving your parents you usually don't express your feelings towards them but instead you act towards them by the name of love.

People who kill, damage, destroy and make a corruption they had love in them but they may have suffered psychological and sociological effects during their life that had discouraged their capability for love and enhanced their temper and negative attitudes toward others.

So answering your question if love is the most necessary thing in life? In my opinion it is absolutely the most essential thing in life and I add my voice to yours " The One Thing You Must Keep Is LOVE"

  2. You can't imagine how right you are!
Indeed, there is a passage from the Gospel which I have decided to include in the comment so you can read it:

    1 Corinthians 13

    Love

"If I speak in the tongues[a] of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames,[b] but have not love, I gain nothing.
4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."

I think it is quite a good definition from love. But more than a clear definition is an explanation of the meaning of love in our lives. I hope you enjoy the text that I have pasted.
By the way, your article is full of wisdom!!
